Wedding Photography at Elsworth at the Mill x Yorkshire Brides.
My whole approach to wedding photography is not to stage, not to pose, no direction and zero fuss… So when the lovely Jen at Yorkshire Brides got in touch to ask me if I’d like to photograph a styled shoot at Elsworth at the Mill, Skipton, I was intrigued at how I could bring my documentary approach to the table, so off I went with my cameras to investigate!
A styled wedding shoot is a carefully planned and curated photoshoot designed to showcase a particular wedding aesthetic, theme, or concept. This shoot took place at Elsworth at the Mill in Skipton and every detail - from the table dressing to the floral arrangements were meticulously and incredibly styled. Such a brilliant idea to inspire future couples, showcase vendors, experiment with creative ideas and make some magic in the process, and what a wonderful collaboration this was!
For me, even in a staged setting, it’s the real moments that I find myself drawn to, so whilst another photographer was doing a wonderful job on set-up and direction, I was free to shoot with the same documentary mindset I bring to real weddings. Capturing genuine moments of the brilliantly talented collaboration in front of me. I mean just look what can be achieved by 11am on a cold February morning!
